S/S 2022 Fashion Forecasting

S/S 2022 Fashion Forecasting

As we move away from winter, we are already thinking about the upcoming season. It is time to ditch the subdued, dull colored layers and switch to an emerging, bright and carefree wardrobe! This year is all about revival, bringing back pieces from the 90s and the early 2000s. Take a look at what is trending for the upcoming season:

KNIT WEAR

Yes, we are moving past the colder seasons, but knitwear is still here to stay for the spring and summer season. This can be seen in apparel pieces like skirts and tops, as well as accessories such as hats, scarves, handbags, etc. Recycled yarns can be used in the production process as a more sustainable approach. This trend is meant to convey positivity and optimism.

BRIGHT ATHLESUIRE

As the winter season passes and the spring emerges, you can already automatically predict that the colorful pieces are making their way back out of the closet. These bright hues can be seen on matching sets, sweatshirts, and leggings. Athleisure is here to stay; you will be seeing others wearing pieces with bold and vibrant graphics and tones. These colors are meant to exude high energy as well as a nostalgic feel.

NATURAL PIECES

With the warmer seasons approaching we can expect not only a brighter color palette, but for natural tones to also make an appearance. As we focus our attention to the sustainability and practicality of our apparel, we will notice the natural connection these pieces will convey. Minimalism will be refined with earthy hues, artisanal stripes, tie-dye, and more. This concept will be implemented through different types of apparel including outerwear, shirts, accessories, loungewear, activewear and knitwear.

LOW RISE DENIM

Last fall, we saw a lot of the low-rise jeans trend emerging. With the warmer season, you can expect to see more low-rise denim shorts, jeans, as well as skirts. This trend has been resurged from the early 2000s and is now back and here to stay, at least for this season. Gen Z shoppers and TikTok users have revived this trend, so now more shoppers are actively looking for these pieces for their spring 2022 wardrobe.
