From Campus to Evening Chic

From Campus to Evening Chic

My favorite part of being in college is that my schedule is constantly changing no matter the day. Between work, school, and social events, creating a wardrobe that can transition from morning classes to evening plans is crucial. Building a closet that has versatile pieces keeps you stylish and prepared for any possible occasion. Starting with a classic base layer is the first step in creating a well-rounded wardrobe. Learning how to layer and incorporate accessories can transform your look throughout any day of the week, no matter your plans.

So, how do you start? Begin with a solid base layer that’s both comfortable and classic. A little black dress is a must-have staple—it’s perfect for any occasion and can easily be dressed down for daytime activities. Another staple piece? Your favorite pair of jeans. Whether you’re heading to a weekend brunch or a sorority event, jeans provide endless styling opportunities with the right accessories.

After choosing your base, layering is the next step to level up your outfit. Adding a sweater, cardigan, or blazer can elevate your outfit from casual classroom chic to weekend-ready in no time. My personal favorite is adding a denim jacket since it can go with virtually anything. If you are going for a more dressy vibe, a cropped blazer allows for a more tailored look. Since animal print is taking over current trends, leopard print will add an edgy flare that is guaranteed to elevate your evening look. With some creativity and the right garments, you can take on your busy college schedule without ever sacrificing comfort or style.

Some tips for seamless transitions from day to night:

  • Always carry products to maintain freshness: To ensure your clothes and makeup last throughout the day, don't be afraid to bring a bag with products to re-apply at any time!

  • Layer strategically: Make sure to look ahead at any other factors that could impact your comfort during the day and night such as weather.

  • Invest in staples: Quality over quantity always! Pieces that you can wear multiple times without wear and tear is crucial in transitional garments.

Day-to-night dressing is all about preparation and creativity. By focusing on versatile pieces and quick adjustments, you can navigate your busy schedule in style. Whether you’re heading from campus to a dinner date or from class to an event, these outfit ideas have got you covered.
