Jewish Apple Cake 

  • Active time: 50 mins 

  • Total time: 1 hour 55 mins 

  • Servings: 12 to 14 (makes one 10-inch Bundt cake) 

  • Ingredients:  

    • 2 cups plus 5 tablespoons granulated sugar, divided

    • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon

    • 3 cups all-purpose flour

    • 1 tablespoon baking powder

    • 1/2 tablespoon fine sea or table salt

    • 4 large eggs

    • 1/4 cup canola oil, vegetable oil or other neutral oil

    • 2 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

    • 1 1/4 cup orange juice, fresh or refrigerated

    • 3 large apples, peeled, cored and cut into 1/4-inch slices

    • Confectioner’s sugar, for dusting

Autumn Pumpkin Chili

  • Ingredients:  

    • 1 medium onion, chopped 

    • 1 small green pepper, chopped 

    • 1 small sweet yellow pepper, chopped 

    • 1 tablespoon canola oil 

    • 1 garlic clove, minced 

    • 1 pound ground turkey 

    • 1 can (15 ounces) solid-pack pumpkin 

    • 1 can (14-1/2 ounces) diced tomatoes, undrained 

    • 4-1/2 teaspoons chili powder 

    • 1/4 teaspoon salt 

    • 1/4 teaspoon pepper 

    • Optional: Shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream, corn chips and sliced green onions

Broccoli Cheese Soup

  • Servings: 10 

  • Ingredients:  

    • 1 whole onion, diced 

    • 1 stick butter 

    • 1/3 c. flour 

    • 4 c. whole milk 

    • 2 c. half-and-half 

    • 4 heads broccoli cut into florets 

    • 1 pinch nutmeg 

    • 3 c. grated cheese (mild cheddar, sharp cheddar, jack, etc.) 

    • Small dash of salt (more if needed) 

    • Freshly ground black pepper 

    • 2 c. chicken broth, if needed for thinning  

Pumpkin Pie Martini

  • Active time: 8 mins 

  • Total time: 8 mins 

  • Servings:

  • Ingredients:  

    • For the frozen whipped topping: 

      • 1/4 c. whipped topping or whipped cream 

    • For the pumpkin pie martini: 

      • 2 1/2 oz. vanilla vodka 

      • 1 1/2 oz. aged rum  

      • 1/4 c. pumpkin puree 

      • 3 tbsp. maple syrup  

      • 1/4 c. half and half 

      • 1/4 tsp. pumpkin pie spice, plus additional for garnish 

      • Handful of ice cubes

Instant Pot Chicken Noodle Soup

  • Total time: 1 hour 

  • Servings: 4 to 6 

  • Ingredients:  

    • 2 tbsp. butter 

    • 1 large onion, chopped 

    • 3 carrots, cut into 1-inch pieces 

    • 2 celery stalks, cut into 1-inch pieces 

    • 3 garlic cloves, chopped 

    • 1 tbsp. chopped fresh thyme leaves 

    • 1 tbsp. chopped fresh oregano 

    • 1 1/2 tsp. kosher salt 

    • 1/2 tsp. ground black pepper 

    • 1 bay leaf 

    • 2 lb. boneless skinless chicken breasts 

    • 4 c. chicken stock 

    • 6 oz. extra-wide egg noodles
