MSCHF Boots - That's Hot

MSCHF Boots - That's Hot

If you haven’t browsed social media in the past few months, some boots are on the market that shocked the world. The brand MSCHF, which began as a mischievous art and thought-evoking page online, now specializes in creating avante-garde pieces. Since its launch in 2018, MSCHF has gained immense popularity from their products such as the “Microscopic Louis Vuitton Purse” and the “Big, Red, Boots”. Now I must say, when I first saw the trend arising I was at a complete loss for words but now, I may have fallen in love with them.

Recently MSCHF announced their collaboration with the beloved childhood footwear brand, Crocs, and consumers couldn’t be more excited to get their hands on them. Now, these boots are exactly what they sound like, comically large, incredibly vibrant, and quite honestly don’t match with much. When the Big, Red, Boots hit the market a few months ago, A-list celebrities across the globe went wild for them which led to massive success.

In recent weeks, more and more people have been getting their hands on these shoes and the waitlist for the Crocs drop continues to grow. With anticipation building, some celebrities have recently been pictured promoting them such as Victoria Beckham and social media star, Alix Earle. Not only does the brand have some immense support for these shoes, but their recent promotional shoot featuring Paris Hilton brought in even more attention. Both styles of shoes have been dubbed the name “cartoon shoes' ', and strongly resemble the footwear of some infamous cartoon looks. This certainly acts as one of the key attractions to the shoes, representing the essence of whimsical characters and the joys of dressing up as your favorite character.

While dressing up is certainly fun, utilizing these boots will cost you $450 a pop, making access to these much more limited. Now for the specifics of this Crocs drop, it’s just about every child’s dream to turn the classic yellow Croc into a large boot just in time for Fall. The iconic holes, logo, and back strap are key additions to the large boot and are meant to be easily recognizable. With this combination, the shoe is quickly identifiable, yet utterly confusing at the same time. It’s safe to say this is no staple shoe, but I won’t be surprised when it ends up plastered across social media in the coming months. Although it may not be for everyone, I quite like the childhood essence and plain fun that comes with shoes such as these. It’s designs like this that rejuvenate the industry and remind people that fashion is meant to be over the top and exciting. I genuinely look forward to seeing these shoes styled by some of my favorite influencers and greatly hope to see them in person at some point. If you hope to have these implemented into your Fall 2023 wardrobe, be sure to keep August 9th open in your calendar!
