ZARA BEAUTY Launch
Now, more than ever, we need to spend more time exploring all that is Zara. Fashion brand Zara extended their varying sales categories to include a beauty line, simply named “ZARA Beauty”, which launched on May 12. Over 130 items for lips, face, eyes, nails, and beauty tools can be found online and in select stores. Most products are provided at a lower price, ranging from $7.90 (Nail Polish) to $25.90 (Cheek Colour in 3 Palette), which is competitive in price compared to other beauty brands. The lower prices do not mean this line is lacking in quality though; ingredients of all the products are proven to be clean, vegan, and cruelty free. If you have ever been skeptical about the ingredients of nail polish, opting for the nail polish at Zara Beauty is a good way to go without worrying or hesitating over the purchasing. With Zara Beauty, you can experience high quality products with affordable prices.
Diane Kendal, the world-famous British makeup artist who has worked for decades within the beauty industry, joined as the creative director of ZARA Beauty. Emphasizing the main goal of ‘Inclusivity’, she tries to provide various products that can be used by everyone regardless of their skin colors, race, age, and sex. In addition, Zara didn’t forget to keep their responsibilities on considering sustainability in all forms . Nearly all the packaging of the items are refillable. For products like nail polish which cannot be refilled, the container was made of glass instead of plastic, which is better for the environment. This is another remarkable point that we should focus on Zara Beauty!
I was curious about the products and wanted to visit the Zara store; I went to one of their select stores in Gangnam, Korea. A cool aspect of their shopping experience is that you can look around the physical store through VR from the Zara website. The actual store looks very similar to what I saw from the website. White-tone cosmetic products displayed on a round and gently curved table gave a clean and soft impression.
All the packaging design was colored in clear white and has an oblique line which was inspired by the letter ‘z’. Even the shape of the nail polish container was slanted. You can also find refill products for all of the items, proving just how accessible Zara’s sustainable line appears.
The color combination of 6 Eyeshadow Palettes is amazing. You can definitely feel the playful vibes that Zara wanted to show from the vivid colors in the eyeshadow palettes. I highly recommend you to try out the cult satin lipstick line if you are obsessed with presenting glossy and shiny lips. They were so creamy, as well as comfortably worn, and did not have heavy finishes.
With a sleek white color in a chic packaging design - simple yet luxurious- which only Zara can easily show, Zara Beauty has made me think it is so well made as a cosmetic brand. I almost forgot that Zara was originally a fast fashion brand! Zara Beauty announced that they are preparing for other beauty products such as mascara, concealer, brow, foundation, etc. Meanwhile let’s keep an eye on Zara, as it may become a Beauty Giant while introducing affordable products and not forgetting sustainability.
