NYFW: Favorite Looks
New York Fashion Week, like most other things, have had to adapt to the restrictions of COVID-19 this year. This has lead a vast majority of designers to put on virtual shows. The good news for us, is that it was public and live for all to watch at nyfw.com. In case you missed it, AMDA member, Natalie Lau, recaps the best looks from this season.
Simon Miller took quarantine to heart when designing this collection; it was all about being at home. Although comfort was kept in mind, he definitely put his spin on it.
Rodarte stayed true to its feminine values. They used beautiful shades of pink and very feminine silhouettes.
Nicole Miller threw it back to the 60s with her collection.
Cinq a Sept’s collection was definitely influenced by streetwear.
Kim Shui stayed true to her streetwear origins, even using the streets as her backdrop. Shui is known for fusing Chinese culture into her designs and executes this beautifully in this collection.
Alice + Olivia did not disappoint viewers. They put on an amazing performance with a fusion of dance and fashion. The collection was all about movement and color.
Jason Wu did not disappoint with this colorful collection. Wu designed with a lot of flowy and oversized silhouettes.
Rebecca Minkoff presented a rocker chic collection. This collection played with layering, which is perfect for the coming of fall.
Tom Ford was absolute excellence. His feminine styles have just the right amount of attitude. This collection was very colorful, especially for Tom Ford. You can always count on Tom Ford to present amazing tailoring fused with aspects of femininity.
Zimmermann presented a beautiful and feminine collection. The look above is one of my absolute favorites from Fashion Week. They stayed true to their feminine roots but also played with structure and silhouettes.
Christian Siriano presented elegant and structured looks. With such a beautiful collection, Siriano added matching masks to all of his looks.
Ralph Lauren designed beautifully structured garments. This collection was definitely based in workwear for the fall.
Christian Cowan stayed true to his playful heart with a mix of streetwear and high fashion.
Anna Sui took her spin on delicate silhouettes with a mix of dark and light colors. Her collection felt like a transition between spring/summer and fall.
Theory stayed true to its core values: minimalism.
