Hannah Cherrin - Ambassador Spotlight
Tell us about yourself!
Hi! My name is Hannah Cherrin and I’m a junior from Detroit, Michigan. I’m majoring in apparel merchandising with minors in business and international human sciences. This fall I am a SWATCH ambassador and I couldn’t be more excited! In my free time I like to listen to music, hang out with friends, get coffee, shop, and be creative.
What does your dream job in fashion look like?
Apparel merchandising allows for so many job opportunities, it’s hard to pick just one. I don’t know exactly what I want to do in fashion, but I think I would thrive doing something with a balance between the creative side and business side. Styling, forecasting, creative directing, or working for a magazine all interest me, and my goal is to do something creative and hands-on in the industry.
What inspired you to study fashion in college and why?
My sophomore year of high school I took a trip to New York for the first time which allowed me to explore the fashion industry and all it had to offer, and that’s when something went off in my brain and I knew I wanted to work in fashion long term. I also worked at a retail store my junior year which introduced me to the fashion work world, and since then I’ve known that I wanted to be a part of it.
What inspired you to get involved with SWATCH?
I’ve been a member of AMDA since my freshman year and I loved (and still do) attending the meetings, but this year I wanted to get myself more involved. I think that SWATCH is such a cool platform and it gives the opportunity to show creativity through media which is exactly what I want to contribute to. I’m beyond excited to be an ambassador this semester and create content!
