Cozy Up This Fall!
‘Tis the season for pumpkin spice! Fall is my favorite time of the year, and I spent the year awaiting my fall favorites. Even if it’s 100 degrees outside with no orange leaves in sight, the second the clock strikes September 1st I go into full fall mode to prepare for my favorite holiday. The best feeling in fall is coming home from a cold, rainy day to your cozy home complete with small but festive changes that allow you to forget about stress for a brief moment. Here’s some different ways you can cozy up this fall season!
1. Scented candles
I light my pumpkin candles as soon as it’s even the tiniest bit appropriate. Coming home to a nice smelling home is such a simple way to feel at ease. This year my two go-to scents are Bath and Body Works’s Caramel Pumpkin Swirl and Pumpkin Pecan Waffles. These two candles are super sweet and the smell fills my entire apartment and lasts for days even when I’m not burning them. A good candle is an absolute must-have to light if you ever need a scented pick me up.
2. Warm socks
I cannot stress enough how much I recommend buying a pair of fuzzy socks! Buy yourself a pair, buy your friends a pair, treat the world to a pair of fuzzy socks! To me, these are an instant day maker. They’re warm, they’re comfortable, they’re reasonably priced. For something so small, they’re so helpful in making any time at home all the more relaxing
3. Fall snacks
This season is when I truly start to go all out with baking. I can’t stay out of my kitchen! I’ve attached some of my favorite recipes below so your October can be just as sweet as mine.
(psst this one above is my all time favorite)
4. Wrap up in a blanket
If there’s one thing in life you can never have enough of in my opinion, it’s blankets. Whether it’s knit blankets, woven blankets, fur blankets, or even weighted blankets (which are a great investment if you don’t already have one), even sitting on your couch doing homework just feels so much better when you’re wrapped in a blanket. If you want to get both your creative juices flowing and add a blanket to your collection for cheap, here’s a great tutorial on how to knit a chunky knit blanket using only your hands!
5. Add spice to your everyday treats
I cheer the day the Pumpkin Spice Latte returns on Starbucks, even though my wallet probably cries. This year I’ve taken the leap and started buying flavored coffees, creamers, and syrups to add to my coffee in the morning to flavor it if I’m in the mood. It’s a win-win, because not only am I saving money but now I can have a fun coffee without having to drive to Starbucks or Dunkin’! Recently my friends have become obsessed with this caramel hot chocolate I’ve been making for them using these syrups which can be found at your local grocery store on the coffee aisle.
