Tell us a little about yourself!
My name is Hannah Mains. I am a freshman this year from Cumming, GA studying apparel design. I chose to come to Auburn because the fashion program was so well ranked, I loved the campus, and it wasn't too far from home. I took fashion classes in high school and since then knew I wanted to keep studying fashion in college. On campus, I am an AMDA member, SWATCH ambassador, and a stylist in Modeling Board.
What are your future career goals?
I would love to get into styling, fashion journalism, or PR as a career. I feel like these all are very relative to each other and I am so grateful for the opportunities I have on campus to get involved. I would also love to start my own business at some point, maybe a denim line or a PR agency.
How has being involved in SWATCH and AMDA benefited you?
I absolutely love hearing from past AMDA members and guest speakers about where they are now and what their careers in the fashion industry are like. It's very encouraging and inspiring to get to hear from them, and I really look forward to those meetings. It's also given me the opportunity to learn from and connect with individuals beyond fashion and career. I love being able to submit to SWATCH and express my creativity and personality in my articles. This opportunity has given me the chance to start a portfolio and work on my writing skills while additionally sharing something I'm very passionate about with others. As an ambassador, I've been able to make new friends that have the same ambition that I do and encourage others to get involved with the blog as well. I'm really looking forward to what is to come for AMDA and SWATCH in the future!
