5 Podcasts You Need in Your Life

Podcasts are so hot right now and they are some of my favorite things to listen to. They are perfect for long car rides, cleaning your house, and studying. There are countless podcasts out there related to everything from relationships, politics, business, pop-culture, and fashion. Fashion and business related podcasts are my favorite, especially the ones that touch on starting a business and advancing your career in fashion. Podcasts offer so much valuable knowledge and can often make you feel like you are having a conversation with a friend. Check out the top 5 podcasts you need in your life below:

How I Built This With Guy Raz

While this isn’t necessarily a “fashion” podcast, this is one of my favorite podcasts. It is primarily business related and features many well known entrepreneurs and their stories on how they started successful businesses. Some of the most memorable episodes that I listened to have been Kendra Scott, Sara Blakely, the founders of Instagram, and Stacy Brown, especially as she started her business (Chicken Salad Chick) in Auburn. I have found this podcast to be very encouraging for my future and life in general, and I highly recommend it to anyone!

The Glam Observer Fashion Podcast

This podcast is great for fashion students because it is mostly geared toward starting your career and working in the fashion industry. The episodes are short and sweet but offer so much valuable information about hustling in fashion. I love how this podcast focuses on little details around the most effective ways to be successful in your career. Additionally, the host, Giada Graziano, offers many outside resources and workshops through her website for those wanting to start a career in fashion one day; not many other podcasts do that and I believe that really helps her stand out.  You will not regret checking this podcast out!

Girl Cult Podcast

While this podcast does not produce new episodes anymore, it is one of my all time FAVS. This is a podcast hosted by Galore Magazine and Lexie Jiaras that featured so many amazing people such as Devon & Sydney Carlson, Sam Abrahart, Lindsay Carter, Amber Asaly, Conna Walker, and countless more. Listening to these influential women speak on their careers in fashion, business, and media inspired me to consider careers in these industries but also made a lasting, positive impact on those around me. I absolutely loved hearing from and learning intimate details about each guest on this podcast. Though new episodes are not being put out anymore I cannot recommend this podcast enough!

Girlboss Radio

I have been so intrigued by Sophia Amoruso since ‘Girlboss’ hit Netflix, that show deserved more seasons! After watching the show, I read her books ‘Girlboss’ and ‘Nasty Galaxy’, which then led me to her podcast. Sophia is no longer at Girlboss, but she often returns to the podcast as a guest. The podcast covers a wide range of topics from health, politics, marketing and business. Some notable guests on this podcast are Rebecca Minkoff, Anastasia Soare, Joanna Coles, and Emily Weiss. This podcast doesn’t stop at fashion and that is what I love about it! Go check it out if you haven’t already!

The Business of Fashion Podcast

The BoF podcast is about all things fashion and business. This podcast covers the most in depth topics related to the industry and discusses why you should be interested in or care about these matters. Sustainability is often discussed, especially as it can be such a controversial subject in the fashion and textile industries. This podcast is great to learn more about what is happening in fashion in the present moment and is a great resource for anyone looking to gain knowledge about fashion and business.

Podcasts offer so much valuable information and knowledge that you might not get anywhere else. They are beneficial for many reasons and there are so many out there to choose from. The podcasts in this article are available on Spotify, Apple Music, and wherever you get podcasts.
