5 Ways to Wear Fall/Winter 2023 Trends
Fashion Month Fall/Winter 2023 has recently come to a close and it did not disappoint. Fashion is so cyclical, yet some of the recent trends seem incredibly fashion-forward and noteworthy for this very reason. It may be difficult to begin imagining your closet for when the temperatures will drop again, but there is no time like the present as these designs are fresh off the runway and ready to make their way into your closet. Although some of the overarching themes seen were vastly avant-garde, I have compiled a list of ways to wear these top designs in day-to-day life.
1. Viva Magenta
Pantone’s Color of the Year took the runway by storm. This deep, purple-infused red emulates passion, strength, and fearlessness, which are all powerful traits meant to pull the viewer into the post-Covid world. While this hue has no limit in style, it was certainly seen in some incredibly high-fashion pieces and is turning heads quicker than any other. Due to this, companies have been creating pieces left and right as inspired by their favorites on the runway to wear daily, so here are a few of my favorites.
2. Bows
Did you think bows would be left back in early childhood along with your ballet shoes? Whatever your predisposition it’s safe to say that bows are back and better than ever. Ranging in all sizes, materials, and uses, bows have become an incredibly versatile form of accenting and complimenting pieces. Recently, bows have been worked into earrings, stockings, and shoes. Whether it be on a purse, the back of a dress, or on the tip of a heel, I am all here for this trend!
3. Leather
For decades, leather has dominated the fashion industry through the classic leather black boot, jackets, and pants. Since it is so long-lasting, many people haven’t bought new leather in years, which is why designers are putting some modern twists on our favorite essentials in order to keep this material relevant. People are once again falling in love with the sleekness and buttery feel that leather has to offer. My favorite aspect of leather for the upcoming season is the variety of colors designers are finally allowing to seep into such a staple piece.
4. Metallic
Who said metallic can only be worn on special occasions? Not 2023! This shimmery, lustrous fabric is the new staple for every closet this upcoming fall, complimented with sequins and other glitzy materials as well. This fun fabric can transform any ordinary piece into a statement to make any day just a little bit more exciting. The best part is the vast color palette!
5. Tailored Suits
2023 is all about combining business with personality. With suits becoming appropriate for just about every occasion, companies are jumping at the chance to transform the traditional business suit from boring to boastful. Introducing color and style into both the workforce and out on the streets has brought about some of the most creative pieces I’ve seen in a while.
