Mask Off, Face On

Mask Off, Face On

As mask restrictions are coming down, how is makeup being incorporated into life again? Masks have become optional in almost all areas of the USA, so now there is another step to getting ready. Personally, having the masks has kept me to a solid half makeup look. I wouldn’t even worry about anything other than maybe some eye makeup. I can’t imagine I am the only one doing this. As I go in public more, not having my mask on 100% of the time makes me question if I’m staying on trend with my beauty regime.

Lip looks pull makeup together in my own opinion. With masks I wouldn’t even think about putting any on because of my lips touching my mask. There are many popular trends with lip looks as spring and summer 2022 roll around. One of my favorites has to be lipgloss! Makeup looks that range from all glow inspired neutrals to sparkle eyeshadows are complimented by a glossy lip. Natural lip colors or bright and bold last longer when they have been coated with a shiny layer of gloss! Now without masks, we are able to wear the bold hues that have been hiding away in our vanities, or just pull out that clear gloss thats been sitting in our purse all year!

Another common, although popular trend after the decrease in mask-wearing has been skin care. I know that personally my skin has taken a toll from wearing a mask. Whether it’s dry or oily, dehydrated or clogged skin, skincare has become a major concern. Products that have SPF, moisturizing properties, and anti-pollution shields may be what the skincare lover reaches for next in the upcoming season. Self-care and wellness products will definitely be a big topic in stores, as the average consumer has started to prioritize their health following the Covid-19 pandemic.

Prepare your beauty routine and get ready for the freedom of not having to wear a mask. For the time being, masks seem to be an optional protectant to our daily lives and our skin finally has time to breathe and reset! Masks off and faces on, people!
