Best Dressed at the Met Gala
The most awaited fashion event of the year, The Met Gala, has once again come and gone. The end of the Met Gala leaves spectators, such as myself, to play as Anna Wintour from, ironically, the comfort of our couches in our pajamas. This year's theme, “American Independence,” allowed for celebrities’ unique interpretation and creativity. Common looks amongst the A-listers this year included those of sequin, tulle, and, most notably, red, white, and blue. While many celebs played homage to fashion icons from the past, others used the theme to commentate on the current climate of American culture and aspects of modern politics. One standout look came from none other than Kim Kardashian, appearing in a full-body, black, Balenciaga suit, in which she showed off in an Instagram picture with the caption, “What’s more American than a T-Shirt head to toe?!” Overall, I believe a handful of celebs’ looks were spot on. For those who may have missed the mark, we still live in a free country, where all are entitled to life, liberty, and hopefully, the pursuit of a better look next year.
